I like to think that Leo is actually madly in love with Kate but after a failed relationship or perhaps due to his young “hollywood antics” when Titanic came out he lost his chance of being with her. Now whenever he sees her, he’s just as in love with her as he used to be, but she’s taken now and he is too. Their lives have gone their separate ways, but inside he will always love her.
